Sheltered Employment

Persons who qualify for Sheltered Employment through the DPW Medicaid Waiver program are assigned to our Johnstown or Ebensburg Work Centers.

CCABH’s Johnstown Work Center offers employment for up to 150 people in Dietary, Sewing, Metals and Sub-contract Manufacturing Departments, while our Ebensburg Work Center employs up to 150 in Metals and Sub-contract Manufacturing.

Our Dietary Department assembles food service kits, including special dietary restriction kits, for hospitals and other institutions in the United States. Employees are trained for both hand and machine assembly.

Our Sewing Department employees cut and fabricate clothing and a wide variety of materials for institutional use. They make everything from pajamas and nightgowns to cot covers and safety vests for industrial, federal and state applications.

Our Sub-contract employees work in a variety of areas including sorting, assembly and packaging of various products.

Our Metals Forming employees produce hooks, hangers, cable supports and specialized safety products for the mining and tunneling industry, as well as the utility and telecommunications, solar power, shipbuilding and pipeline industries. Many of these products are sold worldwide under the brand name CAB Products.
