Handicapped Employment

Handicapped Employment
The vocational goal at CCABH is to place every individual in competitive gainful employment. Those whose vocational evaluation and personal work adjustment training indicate that they may have difficulty functioning in a standard, competitive workplace are directed to jobs in a work center or are provided with additional training to enhance their future opportunities and adjustment. While in handicapped employment, each employee receives additional support from an assigned rehabilitation staffer within the facility. Additional support in areas such as living skills, social skills, benefit understanding, and other needs can be met through this level of support.

Employees of CCABH are eligible to participate in our Social Recreational Program. Disabilities can be very isolating, and CCABH works to further help clients to expand their socialization skills through participation in our Social Recreational Program. The program consists of seasonal parties or dinners, shopping trips, and occasional tours of area attractions. All Social Recreational Program activities are supervised by our staff.
