CAB Solar is proud to announce it has been awarded a tenth U.S. Patent for its innovative Solar Cable Management Product Line. Nine additional patents are still pending with announcements expected in the coming months. The new patent provides additional coverage for CAB’s Cable Management System with Integrated Grounding which won the prestigious NECA Showstopper Award. The Showstopper, presented by the National Electrical Contractors Association, is the highest electrical industry award given in the U.S. It recognizes a new product for its significant economic benefits and innovative technology. Andrea Brooks, a CAB employee for the past 13 years, has been awarded Unique Source's 2020 Achievement Award. Unique Source champions employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, and helps to market CAB Products to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and other government entities. Andrea works in our Johnstown sewing department. She’s extremely diligent and reliable with nearly perfect work attendance. Her primary responsibilities include inspecting, trimming, and bagging CAB's sewn products. She is known for her incredibly positive and upbeat attitude. She says the favorite part of her job is learning new things and being challenged. She also enjoys the many social events, especially bowling, baseball games, and trips to Idlewild Park and Duman’s Dam hosted by the Cambria County Association for the Blind and Handicapped. CAB, which stands for the Cambria County Association for the Blind and Handicapped, provides job opportunities and services to persons with disabilities. Last March when Covid-19 struck, Pennsylvania's governor decreed that all non-essential businesses in Pennsylvania must close. Fortunately CAB was deemed an essential business, however many of our employees with disabilities are among the most vulnerable, and that high-risk group was mandated to stay at home. So when faced with the threat of Covid-19, CAB did what we do best. Our professional staff formulated a plan, adapted, and went into action. Our employees with disabilities followed government requirements and did not come to work. Almost our entire administrative staff shifted to our Ebensburg division and focused on our metals forming operations. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and for the safety of our employees, CAB will not participate in any trade shows for the remainder of 2020. Our sales team always enjoys meeting with our customers, who are the key to our success. We greatly appreciate their feedback and suggestions for improving and expanding the CAB Product line. CAB’s newest patent is the ninth held by CAB for its innovative solar product line. Additional patents are pending with announcements expected in the coming months. The new CAB Patent provides broader protection for CAB’s Integrated Grounding System which includes a multi-function copper composite messenger wire along with a broad range of support structures and grounding hardware components.
